Using Apple iPad to Access Documents within infoXpert

Press Release - December 2010

Since its initial release in 2010 there has been widespread adoption of Apple iPads by executives and staff across organisations. With the built-in wireless and optional 3G connectivity, users are looking to leverage the convenience of their new mobile tablets to instantly access documents held in their eDRMS whilst using their iPad in a meeting, working from another office or out on the road.

Initial testing of the Apple iPad has shown that infoXpert's web browser platform provides a ideal environment for iPad users to connect to their infoXpert eDRMS / ECM.

As part of the testing we were able to access the following infoXpert functions using the iPad via its built in Safari web browser:

  • Login to infoXpert
  • Browse infoXpert Folders and Documents
  • Full text searching across infoXpert documents and folders
  • Display documents held within infoXpert including PDF, Emails and MS Word documents
  • Create documents using infoXpert Form Templates (for example Memos and Customer Requests)
  • Complete workflow tasks
  • Email documents within infoXpert
  • Access System Administration functions

Of course the above functions are subject to a user's security profile and remote access will depend on an organisation's infoXpert configuration with its firewall.

infoXpert will continue to test compatibility of the iPad with the infoXpert eDRMS/ECM and plan to demonstrate the functionality at upcoming user groups and conferences in 2011.
